The Route 66 Marathon Pasta Dinner
presented by Spaghetti Warehouse and the Cain's Ballroom
followed by a live concert featuring Trust Tree

The Williams Route 66 Marathon Pasta Dinner will be held at the historic Cain's Ballroom. Built in 1924 the Cain's Ballroom is known by artists and patrons alike as one of the top performance venues in the world today.

The highlight of the ballroom is a historic maple, spring loaded dance floor designed in a “log cabin” or concentric square pattern. Lighting the dance floor is a four-foot neon star and a silver disco ball. The walls are decorated with oversized photographs of various musicians who played Cain’s.

You can read about the history of The Cain's Ballroom at www.cainsballroom.com

The first annual Kjell Tovander Award will be presented at the pasta dinner. Participants in the Williams Route 66 Marathon can submit their applications for consideration for this award as the most inspirational participant in The Williams Route 66 Marathon.

Be sure to stay for the free concert from Trust Tree after the pasta dinner and you will see what Tulsan's have known for years. There is no better place in the world to see live music than Cain's Ballroom.

Only 400 tickets are available. This event will sell out soon so be sure to order your tickets when you register online for any Route 66 Marathon race or by clicking here..

The 2009 Williams Route 66 Marathon Finisher's Medals
Big, Bright and Shiny...a new tradition for the Williams Route 66 Marathon.

The production samples for the 2009 Williams Route 66 Marathon Finisher's Medals have arrived. The design of the medals is reminiscent of the the chrome hood ornaments and trim that was popular on the cars that traveled Route 66 in its prime.

2009 marks the beginning of a new tradition for the Williams Route 66 Marathon. The medals will be completely redesigned every year but the design will remain consistent with the chrome decorations and hood ornaments of the classic cars that traveled the Mother Road.

Williams Energizes the Route 66 Marathon!
Three-Year Title Sponsorship Announced

The directors of The Route 66 Marathon and Williams announced today that a three-year title sponsorship agreement is finalized and the new event names are the Williams Route 66 Marathon and the Williams Route 66 Quarter Marathon. The partnership allows Williams and the Route 66 Marathon team to build the November classic into one of the top marathon weekends in the country.

“For the last three years we have worked very hard to prove to the Tulsa community and the running world that Tulsa is ready to host a world-class marathon weekend,” said Route 66 Marathon executive director Chris Lieberman. “The three-year Williams sponsorship commitment confirms our vision for this community. We plan to continue building this event and showcasing Tulsa to our participants across the nation and around the world.”

Lieberman said having a company like Williams involved will help take the event to the next level.

“We are all honored to have one of Tulsa’s greatest companies as our title sponsor,” said Lieberman. “They have helped make Tulsa a better place to live for more than 100 years and now we’ll work together to help people energize themselves and become stronger, healthier and more confident by participating in the great events of The Williams Route 66 Marathon. “

Williams has more than 1,400 employees in the Tulsa headquarters’ office and offers a range of wellness programs to encourage fitness and healthy lifestyles.

“Partnering with Route 66 Marathon is a great fit for Williams because of our commitment to wellness for our employees and our support of the great Tulsa community,” said Robyn Ewing, senior vice president of Williams. “We look forward to being a part of making the marathon weekend world-class and we know that Tulsans are committed to supporting events like this that promote our city and put us all on the national stage.”
