The 2008 Route 66 Marathon

Full Marathon (26.2 Miles)

The Route 66 Marathon is run on a beautiful urban road course. The course is a mostly flat loop course starting and finishing at Veteran's Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The 26.2 mile course takes runners on historic Route 66, along the Arkansas River and through Jenks America where runners will pass The Oklahoma Aquarium. As runners leave Jenks they will head back towards Veteran's Park passing through Woodward Park, Cherry Street and some of Tulsa's most historic neighborhoods.

All marathon participants will receive a goody bag and Official Route 66 Marathon Shirt. All finishers will receive a Technical Finisher's Shirt and Medal.

The Full Marathon and Marathon Relay start at 8:00 a.m.
Full Marathion participants must be at least 16 years old

For those of you that have run The Route 66 Marathon in the past you will notice the following course changes from 2007:

The course no longer goes down Brookside. The course now stays on Riverside Drive to 31st Street where it turns East and goes to Woodward Boulevard. The lost distance is made up by going further South on Terwilliger Boulevard after Woodward Park.


Full Marathon Registration Information


All participants must register online or at The Route 66 Marathon Health and Fitness Expo to be held Friday November 14th and Saturday November 15th, 2008. There is no mail-in or offline registration for The Route 66 Marathon.


Marathon Awards and Recognition
For the full marathon, awards are given to the top 3 finishers in each of the following categories based on gun time. Please note that Clydesdale and Filly awards are age graded.

Open Male, Open Female, Masters Male, Masters Female
Age Group Awards (Male and Female): 16-19, 20-24,25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49,50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+
Clydesdale Awards: 170-184, 185-199, 200-214, 215-229, 230+
Filly Awards: 145+

Open Wheelchair Male, Open Wheelchair Female


Pace Groups
Fleet Feet Sports Tulsa and New Balance are pleased to provide Pace Teams and coaches for the marathon. Pace groups will be provided for the following marathon target finish times:
3:20, 3:30, 3:40, 3:50, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45, 5:00
